[There's a new face in the neighborhood, Mayfield. When Cynric wakes up in the morning, there's no confused phone call, no frantic panic about where he might be. He just wakes up, wonders how he got to where he wherever it is he is for about 5 seconds before he's distracted by everything around him! He... he's been transported to the FUTURE! This seems too real to be a dream. Possible kidnapping/time spell gone horribly wrong quickly put out of mind, Cynric sets about the house being astounded by everything in his new home at 1669 Nelson. The TV, the radio, the oven, the car in the garage - to someone from 50 years before all this stuff, it seems unreal. And in his usual fashion, Cynric has started to dismantle some of these to see how they work. Once he finds a tool kit in the garage, those appliances don't even stand a chance.

Later on, there'll be a strange little man strolling through the neighborhood. He stands only about 5 feet tall, with hair that looks like it was cut by a drunken gardener and giant green eyes that are sparkling with amazment. THE FUTURE IS SO COOL! He's also calling out for someone or something called "Hephestus", looking mildly disappointed in not getting an answer until something else catches his eyes.

So Mayfield, feel free to welcome/interrogate/have something on your lawn or in your garage dismantled by the new tiny resident!]

[And returning home after a half day of work. Kids really could be brats... but given her other employment options, Yoruichi will settle with what she has.

Oh well~ It was done, and now she can sit back and relax, maybe have a cup of milk...]

[There's a tiny man in your fridge! Literally. He's removed most of the food and has crawled halfway inside, poking around and talking to himself.]


...but where is the ice?!

[She's entered the house, making her way through the hallway toward the kitchen, only to pause. She can hear someone in there, and wonders whether it is Zevran and what the heck he is up too. She's about to say something when she hears a voice. An unfamiliar voice.]

Oi.

[He turns around and blinks at her.]

I can't find where you store the ice! How does all this stuff stay cold?!

[That is all he has to say? Not who he is, or what he is doing inside the house, or even why he is fiddling around with the appliances?]

You don't need to store ice... It runs on electricity.

[Some might have found his questions weird, but she had been living on earth in exile for a hundred years.]

[His eyes grow wider somehow.] Electricity?! Amazing! [He hops out of the fridge and admires it a moment before haphazardly tossing its contents back inside.]

I'm Cynric! Is this your house?

[And she'll just be taking the milk before he chucks it into the fridge... Still eying him with an unreadable expression, she gives a small feh.]

[Wait...] You woke up in this house?

[He nods enthusiastically. Already, he's being distracted by the coffee maker. He talks to her while he pokes at it.]</>

Yep. Upstairs. In someone else's pajamas! I couldn't find my clothes soI had to go with these. Say, what's this do? [Shake shake shake the coffee maker]

[Debating whether or not to swat him away from it... But she doesn't drink coffee, and if Zevran does, well tough luck to him.]

Coffee maker.

[Did he really not care that he had awaken somewhere strange? Curious, she watches him as she opens the carton of milk and sips from it.]

The clothes are yours. The room too.

[He grins.] This makes coffee?! Amazing! I'll have to try it! [He plops it back down on the counter.]

Don't be silly! That's not my room. This is your house, you just said so!

Technically my house. Not actually. I woke up here- [Now she had to stop and think. It had almost been a month now...] -like you.

[He jumps up on the counter to sit on the edge, swinging his legs. He seems pretty unconcerned about the whole thing.] So... who's house is this then? Why did you wake up here? Why did I wake up here?

It's Mayfield, and I believe it's in the '50's. [Which was definitely not her future.]

Which 50s? The 1950s? I've never heard of a Mayfield… [But he's definitely thinking about it.] Is this the USA still?

They say it is the United States. [She's never been there though.]

Oh, Japan? Japan is lovely! But I haven't been there much. I'm from Wales! But I was living in the USA for awhile. In San Francisco.
