[Action A: Guess who is all up in your business today, Mayfield! Cynric hasn't gotten all of his magic back, just two spells so far. One allows him to speak to his creations, which is only his dodo Hephaestus at the moment. The other is a magic detection spell that lets him find sources of magic within about a 50 yard radius of himself. these were affects that he always had going and greatly missed. Now that he has the latter back, he's on a mission to find all the different kind of magic there is in town! Do you have a magical item or affect on you? Cynric will be following you, and he's hardly subtle. If he gets a ping from your house or garage, he'll be peeking in windows to see what he find. Whatever he might find, he's heading towards it.

Action B: Later, to any visitors at the bowling alley have to put up with him as an attendant. Except usually all he's doing is bowling too. He's terrible at it, but enjoys every minute of it. He's tickled when he manages to knock anything down, and like an excited child, will get the attention of someone nearby to show off.]

[He folds his arms and rests them on the windowsill, and leans forward to stage whisper at her. Old habits die hard, and magic isn't to be discussed so publicly where he comes from.]

I have a magical detection spell back, and you're one of the strongest readings in town!

[She actually blushes a bit and says.]

"Come inside, it seems we'll need to talk a bit."

Oh. Alright, then.

[He skips off and comes inside.]

Ah, I'm Cynric, by the by. Nice to meet you!

"Hirai Yukari."

[she folds her arms, and looks him over.]

"So, you're a user of unrestricted method, then?"

I've never heard of it referred to that way. We might not be from the same place. What do you mean by "unrestricted method"?

"What most people call magical spells, I suppose."

Oh! Well then yes, I suppose. Only a few so far. Two, really. But it's a start! I know soon enough Mayfield will return the rest of my power. How long did you have to wait?

"About a month. I have none of my treasure tools or actual ability to manipulate power of existence though. I can just cause flames and transform into my Flame haze form. I can't even set up a Fuzetsu to protect locals if I fight."

[Those are a lot of words he doesn't know. He blinks at her a moment.]

Wait, only a month? I've been here since last spring and just got them back. You're very lucky, then.

"I suppose. Honestly, I'd prefer to go home, but at least Alastor is here with me."

Alastor? Sounds like we come from very different schools of magic, too.

"That is entirely possible. Tell me about your methodology, a bit." [she shrugs at her drone family.]

"It's not like I have a lot to do, and I'll return the favor." [she plops herself down on the 1950s couch without much particular ceremony, and waves Cynric over to a chair.]

Oh, well, you know, magic! Books, spells, components... I make golems and things, you see, so there's always a lot of those. I've been doing it a long time, you know. Longer than anyone else, I'd wager! At least where I'm from.

Ha! Indeed! And straightforward is boring, anyway.

"You've got a point there. But I'm pretty straightforward sometimes. Finish the mission, restore the balance, destroy the monster. That sort of thing."

[she shrugs.]

"Complexity is only needed when you've got a complex problem to solve. Doing it just to be difficult is stupid."
