[Phone! For the first time, Mayfield, have an irritated-sounding Cynric.]

Mayfield, I know that you send people home all the time, but if I am to remain here, can the interesting ones at least stay with me? It's not often famous composers of opera roll into your life, and that you might be given the chance to be the lead of the opera he is composing.

[A pause.] But that's the way things go. Even outside of Mayfield. Being permanently droned is the closest we have to death, after all.

If anyone had been getting voice lessons from Mr. Salieri, I would be glad to offer in his place. I have centuries of practice and knowledge so I know you will find me to be a satisfactory instructor. My name is Cynric; feel free to contact me.

[With that, he hangs up. Not!family or visitors will find him sitting on the porch and pouting while stuffing his face with red licorice. Hephaestus, his dodo, is beside himself as he can tell there's something wrong with his master, but since they still can't communicate, he doesn't know what. He's flitting about trying to cheer Cynric up.]

...Salieri was here? [gdi why does he only get stuck with the screaming people and always miss the good ones!!] That's a shame, inevitable as it may have been.

Indeed, it's not often you get to meet a talent such as himself. Or in this town, anyone with such an appreciation of music.

Well they do have a penchant for dragging people back and forward between their homes and this place, so it's quite possible that we may see him again.

This is true. But sometimes people come back with no memory of this place! That would be unfortunate.

Explaining everything more than once does get very tedious, but it's a small sacrifice to have some true musical talent back in town. He was composing an opera, you say?

Yes, he was! Both he and His Majesty, the King of Prussia. I suppose I should speak with him as well. It was going to be about Mayfield.

Perhaps he'll be able to carry on with the production, then. It would be an even larger shame to let all of the work they put into it go to waste.

Agreed. I'm no composure but I may be able to help. It would be a shame to just forget it.

I would certainly lend a hand as well, though composing isn't my strong suit. Are there any others in town who would be willing to aid in the major aspects of production? I've yet to meet any myself.

I'll have to ask around. I haven't any either.

Hm. I suppose a good place to start would be people with playing talent. Surely there must be more than one or two people regarding that.

Good, good. This place really needs a shot of culture and refinement, wherever it may come from.
