[Beware, Mayfield! There's a dodo on the loose!

Okay, okay. He's hardly anything to be feared. Quite the opposite, really. Hephaestus might be big, but he's really just like an overly-affectionate, 3-foot-tall pigeon. He's trundling about the neighborhood getting into your business! It seems like his master forgot to lock the gate, and ol' Heph has escaped into town.

Heph, being magically created by Cynric, is smarter than the average dodo, but that's not saying too much. He's a lot like his master, what with his love of people and his curiosity. And you might just find him while you're out and about today!

Maybe he's gotten into your house through a door left ajar. Not to mention you left some delicious fruit out on the kitchen table... or maybe he's playing with the fallen leaves in your yard. He might be in the park too, taking a bath in the water fountain. He could be following you down the street because you *obviously* look like someone who is friendly and interesting! You also might have food. Naturally.

Cynric after awhile will be out looking for him, calling out his pet's name. He'll catch up with him sometime in the evening though.]

[This seems to be a pigeon. A very large and very strangely shaped pigeon with stubby wings.

[Heph is currently making a mess of someone's recently raked leaves by running in and out of the piles. HURRAY!]

[Utsuho watches him for a little bit, and then caws in the creature's direction.]

[Heph's head suddenly pokes out from under a pile of leaves, looking around. When he sees you, he flaps his stubby wings which send leaves everywhere. He squawks and coos back at you.]

These are a lot of fun! I thought maybe there was something buried in it, but there isn't. I wonder why they're piled up like this.

Maybe humans don't like them. They don't like other dead things.

[This makes sense to a creature who has grown up around corpses, anyway.

The raven hops down, pecking at one of the leaves with her beak.]

[Well, okay, Pokey wasn't expecting the dodo in his garage when he came out to start doing some work. It's not the worst surprise he's gotten in town, not by a longshot, but a surprise it is.]

[Well this garage was boring until Pokey showed up. He knows you! Instead of leaving, he's coming over to merrily greet you, squawking.]

[Well, okay, even though he knows you Heph its still kind of freaky having you just wobble on over to him without Cynric there. He knows you probably aren't dangerous, but it's still bizarre. He just kind of sighs in annoyance and flinches as the bird squawks.]

[Yes. Over seven feet tall, but who's counting (since it seems to fluctuate with every few comic pages, herp derp)? At least this means he's grounded enough to not trip over you, you big fluffy ball of annoying. Enjoy being nudged with one Mayfield-provided patent leather shoe instead.]

Theta-Albedo-MOMO-Dodo

[Theta had left the back door open. She needed it open to let the smoke out after she'd tried cooking. She wasn't pleased at all with Albedo's antics with regards to MOMO, and she was trying to cook better for all of their sakes. The problem was that she wasn't nearly as skilled as Albedo was even when he -wasn't- cooking up to his potential. Now she was sitting on the arm of the couch in the living room, sighing frustratedly as she watched the smoke gradually filter out by the back door.]
