Many cats, yes.
[This is evident by the several legs, few extra eyes and two tails. Lovely.
The creature eyes up Pokey and thinks it has a tasty morsel headed its way. Cynric notices this, and give it a stiff pat on the backside.]
Now now! He's a friend.
[It seems to listen, and relaxes.]
Fire-breathing? Oh, not yet! But I might be able to do that.
